Events Spotlight

These workshops were created by Agape Special Events for the DIY Brides.  These workshops consist of 7 complete DIY Courses which is the ultimate guide book for anyone planning their own wedding without a professional wedding planner.  These are interactive classes  where brides will have the opportunity to learn some DIY Projects that they may need for the wedding and have the opportunity to ask a certified wedding planner questions.

 

 

 

Class 1: Where to begin - Budgets/Vision/Organization August 25, 2014  6:30-8:30pm

 

One of many trends over the past few years has been the DIY Movement sometimes its about saving money and sometimes it is because you crafty and creative.  Either way taking on your own wedding can be challenging, and best left to the professionals.  That's were we come in.

 

 

Class 2: Contracts - Choosing Colors/The Dress/Flowers September 1, 2014  6:30-8:30pm

 

This class will go over reading your vendor contracts and making sure that your request are clearly stated and making sure the vendor doesn't have any hidden charges.  This is also a hands -on workshop designed to introduce you to techniques involved in assembling your bridal Bouquet, Boutinierres, corsages and other floral accessories.  We will discuss floral choices, color schemes, shapes and sizes to determine what suites your wedding best.  One of the best parts of this class is that you bouquets that you made. 

 

 

Class 3: The Search - Venues/ Photographers/ Cakes/etc. September 8, 2014  6:30-8:30pm

 

Searching for the right venue, photographer, cake designer and other vendors for your wedding can be  an exhausting task this workshop will teach you the right questions to ask to assist you with finding the right vendor that fits your needs and to assist in narrowing down your choices.

 

Class 4: Guest List/Rentals/Family Dynamics  September 15, 2014 6:30-8:30pm

 

This workshop will assist in narrowing down your guest list brides tend to have a hard time figuring out who to invite and who not to invite, and not to mention all of the other people your parents would also like to attend your wedding as well.  Being a DIY Bride you are trying to cut cost not increase them by having additional guest you cant afford.  This workshop will also go over rental and family dynamics as far as divorced parents, remarried parents and if there are any children involved.

 

 

Class 5: Mastering the Ceremony - Blending Ceremony Ideas/Music

September  22, 2014 6:30-8:30pm

 

In the DIY Wedding  World, you will quickly realize that millions of decisions need to be made! and how would you like the ceremony set-up? will there be an alter? Chuppa? Do you want/need an aisle runner? Rose Petals? Unity Candles? and so many more decisions.

 

The workshop is probably one of the most important in this workshop we will discuss the receptions including catering, bar options centerpieces, tablescapes, as well as invitations, programs, menu cards, types of seating as well as additional information that will help in making your reception a great success and one that your guest will remember.

 

Class 6: Priorities - Mastering the Reception/Caterers/Reception (Centerpieces, Favors/Tablescapes, Settings and Paper Projects  September 29, 2014 6:30-8:30pm

 

This class was created to utilize the plan that was created in the first class (Where to begin?) to determine the layout of your ceremony.  Certain things must be taken into consideration, such as formality, religious traditions, guest count, venue, etc.  We will help walk you through the options and show you a few suggestions.

 

 

 

 

Class 7: Timelines and Itineraries October 6, 2014 6:30-8:30pm

 

As a DIY'er you will find yourself googling a lot of random information.  Have you ever considered how long you walk down the aisle would take? When should your Dad make the first toast? what is traditional in regards to the length of your ceremony?  Where will you and the groom go immediately after the ceremony? Or when will your first dance be?  There is so much to consider.
